Folk Gigs

To buy tickets from us is a little archaic but definitely worth the effort. We do not have a card machine as we are primarily a village hall which is lucky enough to host such great gigs. So to get tickets this is what you do.

Whatever way you choose to pay for your tickets it always starts the same. Phone or email me to find out if there are tickets available. I am on 01263860573 or

Send me a cheque made payable to Swanton Novers Village Hall and state what tickets you want.

The address you send it to is Chris Armstrong, Rose Cottage, St Giles Road, Swanton Novers, NR24 2RB.

If you want the tickets sent to you either enclose a stamped addressed envelope or add £1.00 to your cheque, supply your address, and I will post them to you.

You can also pick them up on the night if you want. Let me know.

Some local people pop round and pick them up at the above address.

In the details put the band and amount of tickets.

Add another £1.00 if you want them sent. (ping me an email with your address)

  • There is plenty of parking around the hall.
  • It’s best to wear suitable shoes as the ground could be soft.
  • Let me know if you have additional needs and we will ensure you have a parking space on more solid ground.

Swanton Novers Village accidentally became a Folk Venue. If you read the article below that I wrote in 2018 you will see that it is all Steve Knightley’s fault. But we don’t mind because it has been fun. Or rather hard work and fun. Each year we have added more and more acts.

I am often asked how Swanton Novers Village Hall manages to attract such acclaimed folk acts.  After our folk season was over in 2018 I wrote a short piece for The Holt Chronicle. This explains how it all began.
